Some parts of the following article have actually been delivered from the books including NE Sioman’s Yoga Journal-The Yoga Tradition of The Mysore Palace and Iyenger’s Light on Yoga. Additionally, I have included some of my personal experiences that I came across after conducting research for a couple of years based on the subject.
When it comes to history of Yoga, it is no doubt daunting itself; so I’ll try my best to focus especially on Ashtanga as well as its influene on Earths Power Yoga, which actually is my personal and favorite style of Yoga.
There’s no doubt that it’s almost impossible to do an ideal time line when it comes to Power Yoga, so I’d like to state that this probably will remain as a subject matter of debate all the time.
People seem to always discuss about the formation of Buddhism as in case it’s “just this way”  the article has focused more on a concern pulling from several years of experience and numbers of trusted literature sources.
Let us take a general overview on theories of Power Yoga:
Theory One: History of Power Yoga
One among the main theories that I personally believe at present is that they were the ancient writers of Vedanta who first practiced some of the major creation of Physical yoga. The classic Hindu contents on spiritual wisdom were no doubt written by some of the Ancient Sadhus based on India. It’s not necessary to mention that writing has an extremely adverse upshot on the spine, particularly after writing for so many hours. Thus asanas were actually developed with the purpose of helping the Indian ancient scribes to relieve back their pain related with many hours of writing on end. Then they discovered that it also assisted in enhancing their mediation, and this is how postures of physical yoga eventually arrived to us.Â
Theory Two: History and origin of Power Yoga
It’s not a secret anymore that Martial art training has influenced various kinds training all across the globe so the second theory states that Armies were normally bought by the powerful and wealthier invaders of land back in the past. This is why invading force usually gain victory over the wars in the past. However, combining religion the King would assure that the armies under his coverage were not placed for hire.
This unquestionably makes a huge deal of sense due to the Yoga postures’ name in the sequence at the root of Mysore Ashtanaga.
Theory Three: History of Power Yoga
Much to your surprise, some of the Physical Yoga’s history has been literally engraved in stone. The Shiva temple and The Khajuraho temples located in Belur, Southern India are the standing ancient monuments, where one can still observe yoga postures engraved all over their stone walls. Many people worldwide believe Lord Shiva to be “The God of Yoga”. Furthermore, when it comes to its history some of it even dates back to 950 AD, which is really unbelievable!
